Material needed for 4 cement eggs

  • 8 cube magnets 10 mm (2 per egg)
  • 4 raw eggs
  • Arts & crafts cement
  • Vegetable oil
  • Teaspoon
  • Sandpaper

Instructions

Step 1

Break open the bottom of the raw eggs (1 cm) and carefully drain the content.

Step 2

Gingerly wash out the shells and pour vegetable oil around the inside, which helps to remove the egg shell after the cement mixture has dried.

Step 3

Mix arts & crafts cement according to manufacturer instructions.

Place the eggs in the egg carton or egg cups with the opening facing up. Then put the cement mixture into the egg shells and top them off. A teaspoon works best for that purpose.

Step 4

Sink two cube magnets per egg into the cement mixture. Then carefully tap the sides of the eggs to allow air bubbles to escape.

Step 5

After 24 hour drying time, remove the egg shells. If necessary, sand down the cement eggs to get a smooth surface.

Done!

The cement eggs make great magnetic paper clip holder or collectors of pins, screws, nails, etc.
TIP: You like coloured eggs better? You can colour the eggs however you want with acrylic paint. Or you could dye the cement while you mix it with acrylic paint.
